Description
Delaware Park is an American Thoroughbred horse racing track, casino, and golf course in Stanton, Delaware. It is located just outside the city of Wilmington, and about 30 miles from Philadelphia. We had the priviledge to master plan the 80,000 sf casino which includes slots, high-limit slots, asian gaming and table games.
In 2021, R2A designed the 15-barrel brewhouse, 1937 Brewing Co. in a nod to the year Delaware Park first opened. This 4,000 sf project included architectural and interior design services.
It is home to Delaware’s first craft brewery in a casino, meaning sports betting, along with table games, slots and wagering on horse races to go with the craft beer.
1937 looks like a rustic English gastropub with plenty of dark wood, green and burgundy built in a former high roller pit. It has an Americanized menu filled with tapas-style offerings. Part of the 1937 build is a $800,000 retrofitting of Delaware Park’s 5,272-square-foot kitchen, which dates back to the ’60s.
